Although nowadays Tricia is perhaps better known for her onscreen work, her career in the entertainment industry began in fact with modeling. Below are some details on Tricia’s past modeling career — a success story in itself.
For Tricia, the gates to the entertainment business opened not through acting, but through modeling. Her story of discovery is classic: while standing in line at a movie theater near her hometown of Donalda, Alberta, Canada, she was spotted by modeling agency scout Kelly Streit, who happened to be visiting family in Stettler at the time. Streit encouraged the hesitant teenage Tricia to participate in the 1992 Ford Models’ Supermodel of the World Contest, a competition which she went on to win. Her win not only gained her a modeling contract with Elite Model Management, it also instantly established her in the modeling industry.
Since entering the modeling business, Tricia has made numerous runway, promotional campaign and editorial appearances. Her magazine covers include Elle, Flare, Amica, Marie Claire, Vogue and Cosmopolitan, and she has appeared in advertisements for Chanel, Christian Dior, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, RedKen, Saks Fifth Avenue, Olay, Valentino, Giorgio Armani and Victoria’s Secret. She has also made numerous runway appearances for some of fashion’s most prestigious names, including Christian Dior, Givency, Carolina Herrera, John Galliano, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent.
In the midst of modeling work in New York, Tricia hosted the Canadian fashion TV program Ooh La La, a gig which awoke in her an interest in further onscreen work. In 2002, Tricia decided to pursue a full-time career in acting, and retired her modeling career.
